Thrifty Thursday – Second-hand Uniform

If you follow this blog regularly then you will know that we have just had a massive change in this household… my baby boy has started school. The week so far has been a blur of picking up, dropping off and trying to be organised and failing miserably.

What does this have to do with being thrifty I hear you ask? Well, I was shocked about how much all of the school uniforms was going to cost us and I was feeling annoyed that there was no option other than to pay the silly prices that they were asking for. That was until someone told me about the second-hand uniform sale that the parents of the school arrange.

I managed to get H two jumpers and they cost me £3.50 each much better than the £12.50 each that they were going to cost me if I bought them new. I also got him a few pairs of school trousers and a couple of shirts for a fraction of the price that they would have cost me. Everything was in great condition and hardly even looked worn. So as you can probably guess I was one happy mummy.

Now it’s over to you…
