Thrifty Thursday – Making Money at Car Boot Sales

Firstly I’ll start off with an apology for the lack of Thrifty Thursday recently. It’s been a bit manic here what with end of term and all the things that it entails.

I’ve been on a mission the last few weeks to get our house more organised and get rid of anything that we no longer use or need. I’ve been slowly building up a collection of unwanted goods in our downstairs toilet ready to sell at a car boot.

Clear out the clutter

This picture above was when I just started to clear out. By the time I had finished you couldn’t get into the room at all. Last Sunday I packed up the car and the kiddies and we headed off to a local car boot sale.

It was quite a long day as we had to get up really early to get a space but it was definitely worth it as we made a grand total of £57 which has gone into our ‘Making Memories’ pot which as you can see is starting to look very healthy…

Normally when we have a clear out I just give all of our old stuff to charity as I’m too lazy to try and sell it but this time I was determined to give it a go and I’m glad I did. Especially as we had so much stuff to get rid of.

It has really spurred me on to sell more items that we no longer use. I have a real issue with clutter a the moment, I find it stresses me out so if I can get rid of it and make some money in the process it’s a win win situation.

Now for this weeks…

Thrifty Thursday

Thrifty ThursdayThrifty Thursday is a weekly linky and a place to share your thrifty posts. It doesn’t matter if they are old or new and can be about anything to do with saving money and being thrifty. Whether it be a post on cutting back on your food shop or your latest thrifty find link it up, I’d love to see it.
