Thrifty Thursday – Thrifty Valentines Gift
I’m not really one for celebrating Valentines day, as far as I’m concerned it is just a way of making people spend money on a load of cheap tat that will ultimately get thrown in the bin the next day. It’s consumerism at it’s worst, well that and Grandparents day! Who on Earth came up with that one, oh I know the card companies, funny that. Anyway I digress back to the subject.
This year I decided that I would stop being a miserable old fart and actually do something for the other half but I challenged myself to create something for free and this is what I did…
To make it I used an old coffee jar, stripped off all the labels and stuck on my own label. I then found a bit of ribbon from my present box and tied it to the top. I filled it up with paper hearts, which I wrote the reasons why I love my other half on.
Simple and didn’t cost me a penny.
Now I’d love to see your thrifty posts…
Thrifty Thursday is a weekly linky and a place to share your thrifty posts. It doesn’t matter if they are old or new and can be about anything to do with saving money and being thrifty. Whether it be a post on cutting back on your food shop or your latest thrifty find link it up, I’d love to see it.
The Boring Rules Bit…
- Add a link to your thrifty post with the linky tool below, you can steal the badge for your post too if you like (sorry no fancy codes though, I will work it out one day)
- Leave a comment below to let me know that you have joined in, you can also add your Twitter name too if you like.
- Try and check out as many other posts in the linky as you can and leave them some comment love.
- You can tweet about it with the hashtag #ThriftyThursday. You can also tweet me @Gina_Caro to let me know that you have joined in. (This one is optional).
I have also started a Thrifty Thursday board on Pinterest and I will be pinning any entries onto it each week so more people get to see your great posts. You can check out the board HERE.
